Last Maine Trip of the Summer.... :-(

The kids and I made one final visit of the summer up to Maine in the hopes of warm weather and swimming. As you can see by the sweatshirts, the weatherman led us astray, but at least we got some quality time with Grammy and Grampy. We probably won't be seeing them again until Aiden's birthday next month. Thanks, Grammy & Grampy, for all of your hospitality this summer!

Story Time

After breakfast I overheard Aiden "reading" Brienne a book in the living room. The funny part is that he was getting the story mostly right, because he's practically memorized this Curious George book! So cute. Wish they would always play this nicely together....

Lost a lot of tomatoes off the vine in the process of trying to reinforce the stakes holding them up. Thankfully, they've ripened just the same in our kitchen window. The kids have turned into tomato eating machines this summer! The ripe cherry tomatoes don't even make it into the house, because they eat them as they're plucking 'em right off the vine.

Gotta love the fact that there's never a shortage of free, fun stuff for the kids in the summer around here. Today we packed a picnic lunch and went to see Marcus Gale perform at the library. He came all the way from Maine, believe it or not!

Aiden was "fishing", but I'm not exactly sure what the headphones were all about. Loud fish, perhaps? Brienne and Joe Joe were in the background, probably discussing what a nut Aiden is. :-)
