STEM Fair Prep

Aiden is participating in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Fair at his elementary school this year.  His project is "What Types of Materials Conduct Electricity".  We spent part of the morning finding out.....

Swim Team

Despite some initial trepidation, the kids are LOVING swim team.  We started at the beginning of the month, and they are both doing great!  Hopefully this is a good introduction, and they will like it well enough to continue this summer (at whichever pool club we end up joining). 

The Magic Popcorn Popper

In awe of the popper we got for Christmas.  Much more exciting than the microwave popcorn we've gotten used to (and healthier to boot!).

Morning Treat

Muffins On Main!  Love this place.  <3

The owner of the muffin shop lives across the street.  One of her employees was telling us about the Winnie the Pooh tree house in the front of her property.  The tree, which was felled in the ice storm several years ago, turned out to be hollow.  It had been overtaken by bees - hence the idea of turning it into Pooh's house!  How we've driven past this on a near daily basis for so long and not noticed it, is beyond me.  So cute and so fun!

Pinewood Derby

Aiden took 2nd place overall for his Pack in today's Pinewood Derby!  Way to go, Aiden!

Brienne's car took home the "Pinka-licious" award.  She didn't do too bad, either, coming in 4th for the family cards.

Ski Day

We met the Osborne's at Wachusett for a fun day of skiing today!  We haven't skied here as a family before, but hopefully we'll be back more a lot more this year, now that we're all outfitted with skies.  

The magic carpet is protected from the elements, which wasn't really necessary today, but still very cool!  Bree progressed quickly to the chairlift after a couple of warm-up runs. 

Today was 3 year old Jillian's first day on skies.  She did great -- especially with some encouragement from Aiden.

New Years Eve

We had a change from our traditional adult-only NYE dinner party this year.  With one couple away in England, and another having to cancel at the last minute, we decided to turn tonight into a family event with our besties.  

Aiden helped Dad with some amazing mango chutney meatballs earlier in the day.

This was the early NYE toast around 10pm.

Aiden gave us a little strings concert.

Amazingly, no one fell asleep while all comfy and cozy watching a movie.

The Nguyen's headed home around 11pm, but our own kiddos were DETERMINED to ring in the new year at midnight.  Looking a little bleary-eyed with 7 minutes to go.....

They did it!  Happy New Year.  Time for bed!!!!!
