Jenga!

Family game nights are getting INTENSE!  Most evenings we've been playing various games as a family.  It's been a fun change of pace, since there's no homework, activities or reasons to go to bed early anymore...

Mountain Biking

Aiden didn't get enough fresh air on our hike, so he and Sean headed back out for a bike ride later in the afternoon.

Greystone Pond Hike

We explored a new trail in Westford today.  Aiden used this opportunity to work a bit on one of his advancements for Boy Scouts.  He was taking pictures of wildlife along the way today.

Looks like snow on the ground, but it's actually very fine white sand.  I'm thinking it's some sort of stone dust deposit from the nearby Graniteville Materials...

Cherry Pie

At the risk of being subjected to another retelling of the famous Cherry Pie story (for the billionth time), we made one today.

The good news is that it tasted better than it looks.  My pie crust definitely needs some perfecting, though...  But this was our first try.  We'll try again (someday!).

"Art Class"

Revised Home Schooling

Last week was a disaster.  This week, we're gonna try again with more scheduling input from the kids.  Math, writing, instrument practice, chores, exercise, outdoor time, reading -- they all need to happen each day, but Aiden and Bree can make their own schedules.  We'll see how this goes....
🤞🤞🤞

Today's boy project.

Boy Scouts via Conference Call

Aiden had his first conference call tonight.....for Boy Scouts.  He'll be working on several merit badges remotely via Zoom while school is closed and "social distancing" is required.

Home Schooling

Homeschooling 101.  Teaching the kids to clean bathrooms.

And don't forget Homeschooling 202.  Teaching them how to help with dinner.  Bree's helping make the scallion gruyere biscuits tonight.  Yum!

Online Taekwondo

The kids' Taekwondo Master was quick to move to online classes.  It's nice to have a little bit of structure in their day right now.

Happy St. Paddy's Day!

School is now closed in our town through at least March 27th.  😞

With all this extra free time, Bree "helped" me make Irish Soda Bread for dinner tonight.

If the sugar cookies look a little brownish, it's because I had to improvise.  White flour is suddenly hard to come by in the grocery stores.  I only had a little bit left, so I used whole wheat flower to round out the needed ingredients.  Hope they taste ok!!

First Passport Photos

In anticipation of our hopeful trip to Australia later this year!

[Today was an unplanned no-school day.  They've closed all the schools in Westford to deep clean them over the weekend, in response to the COVID-19 outbreak that has now started to hit the United States.]

Maple Sugaring

Bree's troop had a field trip today to learn about Maple Sugaring.  It was a fun (and tasty!) afternoon.

STEM Fair

Our last Crisafulli STEM Fair.  The girls engineered "The Thermocup" - to prevent ice cream from melting too fast.  They tested several types of insulators - sand, felt, cotton balls, beans, rice, foil.  In the end, they determined that felt was the most effective insulator.  Job well done, girls!

Out for Delivery

We took advantage of the no school day, to deliver 3 of the 4 Food Pantry Bins.  So happy to get them out of our basement!  LOL!

Finishing Touches

CSA Graphics made these amazing decals for the Food Pantry Bins.  They look so professional!  The one on the left is for The Mill Works.  The one on the right is for Roudenbush.  Not pictured are a new one for Village at Stoney Ridge and one that the girls refurbished for Market Basket.  Job well done!

Build Day with Dad

Slowly, but surely we are nearing the end of the Food Pantry Bronze Project.  Dad has been a trouper with all the hours that he's spent helping Bree and the other girls achieve their vision.
