Track Practice With an Audience

Somehow Aiden convince Bree to join him at the track today for some sprinting practice.  It's nice to see that they CAN get along when they want to.  Nan and I walk around the track while the kids did their thing.

We had a lot of icing overnight.  Guess this is as close as we're gonna get to a White Christmas in 2021 -- Ice the day AFTER Christmas.

After a wonderful Christmas brunch, presents, a lazy afternoon, and a gourmet dinner, we finished the night with an intense game of Yahtzee.  Such a great Christmas.  We feel lucky to have spent it with Nan & Pop this year.  💚

We were unsuccessful at finding the decorated tree on this hike, but at least we got a bit of fresh air and earned our Christmas Eve "France".

Our wardrobes fell short in the ugly Christmas sweater department, but I think this is a pretty impressive effort for spirit day at school today.

 

Boston Pops

We went to see the Boston Pops perform this afternoon at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium.  Amazing show!  And Santa even made an appearance.

 

Gingerbread Houses

My annual labor of love.

It gets marginally easier every year to assemble these.  Not sure if I'll ever quite be an expert.

The annual neighborhood decorating party.  We're back indoors this year.  Yay for COVID vaccines!  We really haven't been indoors at one other's homes, though.  It was kinda weird, to be honest.  All of our get togethers since March of 2020 have been outdoors -- usually around someones firepit.

Bree took the first part of her Black Belt test tonight.  She killed it on the board breaking!  So proud of her.  XOXO

 

Early Christmas in Maine

Back in Maine (2 weeks post-Thanksgiving) for an early Christmas with our Maine family.  Sean's family will be visiting us in Massachusetts for the holidays this year.

 

Formal Day at School

Interesting choice for a spirit day, but the kids (surprisingly!) were into it.

 

Tree Topper

The kids barely helped decorate the tree this year, and didn't even come around when it was time to put the star on top.  Bah Humbug!

 

Littleton Little Town Tree Hunt

We're in search of decorated trees on the Cobb Memorial Forest Trail today.  

There was a sign warning about coyote sightings at the trail head, so this goof ball found a big stick to protect us (or maybe just protect himself....)

This sweet tree had photos recognizing all the Veterans in Littleton.
