Drumlin Farm (Lincoln, MA)

Today's adventure took us to Drumlin Farm (aka Kimball Farm, according to Brienne). First stop was to see the sheep.

Brienne spotted the "baby goat" among the adult goats in no time.

She loved seeing the baby goat snuggling up to it's momma.

Momma pig had a new litter (?) of piglets that we got to watch nursing. That was pretty cool!

Combined, Aiden & Bree weigh in somewhere between piglet and growing pig. Sounds about right to me! :-)

Aiden seemed to like the fake horse better than the real horse (or any of the live animals, for that matter....)

Brienne, on the other hand, was desperately trying to climb over the gate to go visit the real horse!

No one wanted to look at the camera for a photo in front of the big tractor....Figures.

My name is Mr. Ed.

Meow!

In the hen house, Bree kept yelling "Hi Chickens! Hi Chickens!" Poor chickens were probably pretty happy when we left...

Lunch break. (I'm getting darn good at packing picnic lunches....)

So photogenic when he doesn't see me with the camera. (Am I allowed to say that my own son is photogenic?? xoxo)

Fashion Sense(less)

Bree stripped down to her diaper, and replaced her clothes with a sun hat and rain boots. Then she insisted that I help her put her coat on -- zipped up. Maybe if she kept her clothes on she wouldn't need the coat to keep her warm....

Last Day Of Preschool (Year #1)

It's hard to believe, but our baby boy just completed his first year of preschool. Where has the time gone?? *sniff, sniff* His class put on a little show for the parents before their "diplomas" were handed out.

Aiden appeared a little overwhelmed by the crowd of parents as they paraded into the hall.

The kids first sang us the ABC song.

And then they sang (or at least some of them sang....) and signed "The More We Get Together".

They wrapped up with You Are My Sunshine, which made me a little weepy, as this is a song I've been singing to my kids since before they were even born. Kind of embarrassing, but I used to sing it to Aiden when I was pregnant with him and alone in the car. And now he can sing it to me! xoxo

Awarding of the diplomas by his teachers Mrs. Dunn and Mrs. Oakleaf.

Ethan and Brienne came to see their big brothers' ceremony. Lucky Ethan gets to start preschool in the fall, but poor Bree has to wait one more year.

Partying with his buddy Adam.

Bree made herself right at home in Aiden's classroom. She SOOOO wants to go to preschool!

One last construction project before the school year officially ends.

Cupcakes

Aiden helps mix up the batter for the cupcakes we volunteered to bring to his "last day of preschool party." He's become quite the little helper in the kitchen. :-)

Snack time while the cupcakes are cooling.

Ahhhh.....frosting! The best part!

Beach Day!

Discovered a great little beach and playground in Chelmsford last week - Varney Playground. The kids had a blast on our return visit, this time with our swimsuits, beach gear and a picnic lunch!

If you're wondering why this is turning into the Brienne blog, it's because Aiden covers his face every time he sees us trying to take his picture.... argh.

(Body) Painting

Good thing water paints are non-toxic. Turned my back for a few minutes to read Aiden a book, and when I came back she was painting her tongue....black.
